Låder, Rennesøy. This is where I saw the great pulsating, sweeping curtains of green and pink light leaping through the star lit sky.  A low rocky bay ringed by islets where the eagles gather to shake their tale feathers, disturb the wildlife and excite the Selkie crew.

The sun has shone so brightly that we swam and sunbathed on the aft, sheltered from the wind, chewing the cud and making plans for our remaining time in Norway.  Another light show is foretold and who knows when we are next in such an amphitheatre where the sky stretches so vast across the horizon.  We came from fjords and are heading back into them in the coming weeks.

We have become so close these past months.  Laughter, grief and wonderment sharing the same stage.  What happens next is the question on all our lips.  A voyage of possibilities that has opened up so many more possibilities than previously imagined.  Got to put a smile on your face!

What is next for me is a summer of charter sailing in Scotland with Selkie interjected with a voyage skippering Silurian with the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust. But first a spring planting 1500 native trees on the croft, teaching yoga and catching up with the sheep.

I still have available trips for this year and can do bespoke dates too so do get in touch with me if you have any ideas.

I’m also finding myself hatching plans for another voyage north, learning from this trip, and exploring more of this incredible country.
