Dylan

Usually when you join Selkie you will find a female crewed boat, save for one very important person; someone who can’t recall a time that he didn’t know her, someone for whom the very fabric of his being is tuned to the lines and character of this beautiful boat.
Dylan was 2 and a half when he first stepped onto Selkie, hid in lockers, led a crew of mutineer toys and legos, battled great sharks with glassy teeth, got too close to a stowaway scorpion and built a loyal relationship with the friendly croc that swam under the boat keeping an eye out for mischief.
Now emerging into adulthood, Dylan has become the best company aboard the boat – young, strong, as quick to laugh as to walk the boom, cook a delicious meal and raz around in the dinghy. Able to pull the mainsail up the mast almost without using the winch (a feat indeed) and now sporting his RYA Dayskipper. Dylan will be 18 in time for the 2022 season and I will be the happiest of skippers sharing the voyages of Selkie with my wonderful son.
Selkie Volunteers
We’ve had some wonderful helpers aboard Selkie over the years. Many thanks to you all for your skill and enthusiasm which plays a crucial supporting role both onboard Selkie and at the croft, where much of what our guests eat is grown. If you’re interested in volunteering, get intouch to see if we have any availability.
